Festival Overview
Gita Jayanti marks the auspicious day when Lord Krishna revealed the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. This sacred text contains 700 verses of divine wisdom that provide guidance for leading a meaningful and purposeful life.
The festival is celebrated on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the bright fortnight of Margashirsha month. Devotees engage in reading, studying, and discussing the Gita's teachings to deepen their spiritual understanding.
